Playa Limpia Mission and Successes
Our goal has always been, and continues to be, building community, environmental well-being and peaceful coexistence by fostering empathetic and respectful relationships with other people, animals, plants, and all other living organisms.
With the consistent implementation of PLAYA LIMPIA programs, the bonds within our community have been strengthened through friendship and a shared commitment to improvement among local residents, business and neighbors.
It is noteworthy that the art project with kids has helped strengthen the sense of belonging, solidarity, and a cooperative spirit to achieve the common good through environmental awareness. The cleanliness in our community helps us create a pleasant, safe, and functional environment.
Recycling has helped improve the community's image and has also contributed to introducing children to environmental stewardship. Furthermore, the number of local residents who maintain the town's common areas and streets in optimal condition and with less litter is gradually increasing.
Over the years, we have found that teaching children about the importance of recycling and keeping their community clean from a young age cultivates sustainable habits that can last a lifetime. In ten years we've seen children become adults and parents who are now making sustainability informed choices because of the philosophies and opportunities they were exposed to, encouraged to embrace and given infrastructure to participate in.
This intergenerational approach ensures that future generations are better prepared to face environmental challenges. We believe that the duration and consistency of the programs are responsible for the increase in care, responsibility and participation.
